Nymphenburg Palace

On a very rare sunny day, we decided to go visit the Nymphenburg Palace, the famous castle where Ludwig II was born and would then go on to become the "fairytale king" and build Neuschwanstein and his other fantastical creations.  Nymphenburg was relatively close to where we lived so we walked most of the way, only stopping to have some rabbit and chive pasta on the way (and mashed blood and liver for Matias).  Once we arrived, the palace was quite lovely and the gardens looked beautiful in the sunlight as spring took over the garden.

Nymphenburg was interesting to compare with the style that Ludwig II developed as an adult.  My only regret is that we didn't get a chance to see the Linderhof Palace and its eccentricities while we had the rental car, but at least we have something to look forward to the next time we visit Bavaria.
