Ellen Update

Can you believe it?  Our little Ellen is turning nine months tomorrow.  And what a difference those nine months can make.  Somehow, she went from this:

to this:

She's a funny little girl.  About a month ago, she learned to quickly drag herself throughout the house and instead of "properly" crawling, she does this army crawl around the house instead.  The lady at the neuvola said that she probably won't ever use normal crawling as a method of getting around since she's so fast at belly crawling and will just go straight to walking from there.

This week, she's learned how to stand with her feet and hand on the ground and is determined to walk around like that (kind of like a chimpanzee does).  So far she hasn't managed to master even a few steps in that manner, but is practicing hard.  She is also getting better at pulling herself up against furniture and standing against them.

So basically, what all this means is that she needs constant supervision because either: a) she hurts herself trying to do baby aerobics, or b) she gets away from me and tries to break something in our home.  If I leave her alone for a few minutes, I'll eventually hear some kind of clang or clatter as something or other is pulled to the ground.  Or a loud bang as Ellen comes tumbling down.

She definitely is turning into an active little girl and is keeping her mommy and daddy very busy!
